We will be meeting at 9:15 AM at 2415 Jerusalem Ave. (Route 105), North Bellmore, NY 11710. The parking lot is the first driveway on the West side of Newbridge Road. (Route 106) South of the Southern State Parkway (Exit 25 S). We will caravan/carpool to Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Meet at 10:45 AM at the Unisphere which is behind the Queens Museum.
We will be receiving a docent guided walking tour of World’s Fair Ground Sites by Leigh Block who has some automobile related World’s Fair History to tell us about! (This is a free tour provided by NYC Park Rangers).
In the afternoon, we will be receiving a Guided Tour if the Queens Museum Diorama which is from the 1964/1965 World’s Fair. The Museum also houses World’s Fair Memorabilia. There is a $10.00 per person fee for the museum tour which includes entrance to the museum. Children 18 and under are free.
We are planning on stopping by the Lemon Ice King of Corona after the tours!
Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
